Beatles Concets in Jacksonville and Atlanta

I got to see the Beatles. (I was 14 years old) On their first tour to the states myself, and 2 girlfriends, Anne & Cyndee went to see them in Jacksonville. How we had picked each of the Beatles to be our own was: Anne had picked Ringo, she just loved his eyes. Cyndee picked Paul...well we all know why....such a cutie. I had to pick from John & George but because John was married and to us that was a "no no" so George became mine.....and through the years he has been such a big part of my heart. When he passed I felt I had lost a very good friend of mine.

Cyndee, Anne, and myself got to the place where they were performing, found where we would be sitting, everything was real crazy....girls crying already and they hadn't even seen them. When they did come out the noise of the girls screaming (and Yea we were screaming too) was so loud you couldn't hear anything! But they were there...right in front of us and they were moving! back then no DVD?s, videos, just magazines and that was it, besides the times we saw them on Ed Sullivan's show. we couldn't hear them very well, the screaming was so loud, but it didn't matter we were in the same place they were and they were MOVING!! lol! it was soon over and before we were ready we were on our way back home.

The 2nd time we saw them, it was in Atlanta and when we got there we found our seats, met some other girls and promised ourselves we would NOT act like we did before....screaming and not paying attention to EVERYTHING they were doing, like how they moved, how they sang...how they shook their heads etc.

The stage was all set up, all it needed was the guys and their guitars. When they came onto the stage girls started to scream...we tried so hard not to. I did start to cry when I saw George.....in my young mind he actually was MINE.....and I just felt so much love for him in that moment. I noticed that they kept kind of joking around, like they had an inside joke or maybe they were laughing at us girls, who knows but they looked like they really were enjoying themselves. Once they had started to sing we told the girls around us to shut up and surprisingly some did so we got to hear them a bit better than the first time.....once again before we were ready they were done, bowing and getting off the stage. Cyndee and I started to cry, Anne who is very loud got real quiet and then it was all over and we were in the car going back to home. We talked non stop for hours and weeks about them and how they looked.
I will never forget the excitement of those two concerts. I hope you got a glimpse of how it was for us back then......thanks for letting me tell it. Through the years I haven't had any Beatle friends...getting older, married, moving has put distance from Cyndee & Anne for many years, even though I played Beatles for my kids from their birth and beyond they grew up hating them....they have their own music and they don't get how great they are.

Wow, that sounded amazing. I wish that I was old enough to have actually had the chance to have been there. I really love them, and their music is so moving and inspirational for me. In my eyes, their music is a lot better than any of the junk that is being released lately.
Beatles forever! (:

Ps - I hope your children will eventually come around to love them as well in good time.
