Beatles Letters and Postcards

As I was putting together the page for Ringo’s postcards I started to see how interesting it is to view the letters that the Beatles wrote to each and their friends. So I did a little internet research and came across some very interesting Beatles letters and Beatles postcards. The ones that really caught my attention were:

  • The letters written by Paul to Prince
  • Paul's postcard to Cynthia Lennon
  • John’s drawing to a fan on his birthday
  • George’s letter to his friend written while the boys were in Hamburg. (Based on the line-up for the band (described by George) this letter could have been written during the boys first Hamburg visit.)

I’ve gathered as many interesting Letters or Postcards written by the Beatles as I could find. I hope you find them as captivating as I did.

We start this section off with a letter that George wrote to a friend named Archibald. Based on the statements George makes in the letter I would place the time as one of the Beatles first trips to Hamburg in 1961.

Next letter is a special one: this is Paul’s letter to Prince (or the artist that formerly known as Prince) asking him to support a performing arts center in Liverpool.

Next we have a letter from John and Yoko retaining the services of an attorney in August of 1972.

A letter from John to old friend Bernie Andrews from the BBC radio.

And a correspondence between George and perhaps an attorney or friend in what appears to be a transfer of funds.

Here is one I love: it’s a drawing by John to a friend named Colin on his birthday, signed by John “Sometime in March- Rishikesh 1968”.

Here we have a type written letter by Paul to Len Garry, one of the original Quarrymen in reference to the reformation of the Original Quarrymen.

Next up we have Paul’s response to a fan’s letter from May of 1963 with his signature.

I love this next one, it’s a postcard from Paul to Cynthia Lennon. It comes from Cynthia’s newest book “John” and when I scanned it I left the caption from Cynthia for all to see.

Next up is a great drawing by Paul signed by Paul and Linda to Alison and Yvonne. Anyone know who they are?
