For myself, first of all I agree with every one of those quotes and this just might be might favorite book about the Beatles music. It is very easy to read, with clever and funny stories and insights that could only come from someone who was there “Inside the eye of the hurricane.” I have used excerpts from this book all over this website and will continue to do so in the future. I found myself laughing out loud often and not only saying “So that’s how they did it” but “Oh, that’s what that means”. I am not a musician (I just play one on TV ) so very often while reading other technical accounts of the Beatles musical creations I would have to call my sister or brother in-law for an explanation, but not with this book. Geoff takes the time to explain the technical terminology simply without you ever feeling like he is talking down to you.
