Going to a movie theater and screaming girls through the entire movie.
Watching TV and screaming sisters during the entire performance.
Friends going to a concert and when I asked about it all I could get are blank stares.
I’m talking about A Hard Days Night & Help, The Ed Sullivan Show and the Beatles in Concert.
Listening to the radio where it was a contest to see which station got to play a new Beatles song first and radio stations playing other stations copies.
Bootlegs of the Beatles songs in the sixties which was a big thing then.
The Paul is dead hoax which was a radio special with all the clues.
A big event to watch a new Beatles single on Ed Sullivan or the Smothers Brothers show.
A walk on by George Harrison on the Smothers Brothers show.
This is what it was like growing up with the Beatles in the 60's.
Fast forward to the late 70's. One of my cousins temporarily lived in New York City. He was walking down the street and walking toward him was John and Yoko. While they were very nice, My cousin who was never at a loss for words was tongue tied & couldn’t say a thing.
