I met Paul McCartney

I have had the pleasure of meeting Paul on more than one occasion. This was because I was working for his record company. My favorite memory though was the first time I met him. It was at a film screening and party he threw for the crew of a film he had made (the crazy thing is I can't remember now what the film was-- remember that expression, if you can remember when you met a Beatle, you probably weren't there?).
Anyway, the entire crew was invited to screen the film and celebrate (a hundred people or so.) As each person came into the screening theater, Paul was standing at the entrance and he actually hugged each person and thanked them. As I made my way up to the door I extended my hand out and said-- "I don't deserve a hug, I didn't work on the film, I am here because I work for your record company." He gave me a double take look, and a charming sort of wink smile that is classic Paul McCartney-- and then he hugged me!

I loved him before-- I really loved him after that!

Hopefully one of these days I can do the Paul McCartney solo version and really "hug" him back!
