I was too young to see the Beatles in concert (sigh). When they played Shea Stadium, I begged, I pleaded....to no avail. My parents were adamant, TOO YOUNG! Fast forward to 1974. Elton John was playing at Madison Square Garden. Of course, all the buzz in Beatledom was that John Lennon was going to be there. It was a rumor but somehow I just knew it was going to come true. Once again, I begged, I pleaded. This time, my parents allowed it! When John came out on that stage, everyone around me ceased to exist. It was just me and him in that room. There aren't words that can express how I felt. He was there for a brief time (TOO brief) but it's a night I'll never forget.
