NEMS 1963

NEMS 1963

I worked in NEMS with Beryl Adams and Freda Kelly. As well as working in the office at night we would go to 'gigs' like the queens hall in Widnes where we would work in the ticket office and do all the odd jobs needed. My mum was a tailoress and made Ringo's first black velvet waistcoat! One evening John, George and Ringo (came to be measured for his waistcoat) stopped for supper at my house after the Queens Hall gig. My mum asked George and John what they were going to do for a proper job. They, George and John said they were going to open a record shop together in Penny Lane if they got enough money....ah little did they know.

Do you have any photos of NEMS in the early days? Around 1962-64? Trying to put a project together and found your article fascinating.
Cheers
