Octopus Garden Fanzine

Octopus Garden Fanzine

by Tom Aguiar
(Peabody MA USA)

Well the Beatles have been a major part of my life since that day on the Ed Sullivan. They've been there for me through the good times and the bad. "In My Life" was the song I danced with my daughter at her wedding for the father daughter dance.

I'm a collector as well with many original albums and memorabilia.

Because of the Beatles, I got involved in a fanzine called "Octopus Garden" as a writer and assistant editor in 1993. In 2001, I took over the magazine completely. Great stories, news, features, games AND interviews with "Beatles People" like Alistair Taylor, Louise Harrison, Laurence Juber, and others including our own Woody Lifton. We are in our 18th year of publication. If anyone is interested in getting more information or wish to subscribe here's the information:

Octopus Garden is a quarterly fanzine that comes out in March, June, September and December. The average size is 20-24 pages but often larger. The subscription rate is $16.00 in the U.S. and $22 (U.S.) everywhere else in the world for four issues. When you subscribe, or renew, you receive a membership card and an 8" x 10" photo of the Beatles. From time to time we send out little extras such as a CD, calendar, specially designed artwork, etc. You can reach us at:

My Review of Octopus Garden Magazine
by: Woody Lifton

For the past 18 years my friend Tom Aguiar has published Octopus' Garden, a Beatles magazine that all Beatles fans should be subscribed to.

As a subscriber and some who has been interviewed by the magazine I can tell you that is a first class Beatles Fanzine that is run by people who's dedication to the band is unsurpassed.

The publishers are not putting this Fanzine out to make money it is purely a labor of Beatles love and devotion for them.

Articles are exceptionally well researched and very accurate. Interviews are filled with in-depth and well thought out questions. It was quite challenging for me to respond to all of Robin's questions.

Octopus' Garden is a high class Fanzine and I am proud to be both a subscriber and an interviewee for this top of the line Beatles magazine. When my interview and review of Pop Go the Beatles ran in Octopus' Garden it was one of the proudest days of my life.

The prices that Tom charges are incredibly affordable ($16 per yearly subscription) and make it very easy to be a subscriber.
I know you will be looking forward to receiving evey issue of Octopus' Garden.
