The Beatles In Rishikesh
SPECIAL MEDIA ALERT TO THE-BEATLES-HISTORY.COM
Aug 22, 2009
Beatles fans can 'discover' India like the Beatles did in 1968, practice yoga, visit Rishikesh, Jaipur, Agra and other historic Indian cities, and meet Ravi Shankar and other Indian musicians who played with group members, on the upcoming "Beatles in India Tour."
The 18-day tour will be led by Emmy Award-winning film producer/director, Paul Saltzman, who met and photographed The Beatles during their impactful 1968 visit to India. The Beatles wrote 48 songs in 7 weeks on that trip – their single most creative period in their illustrious career, according to Saltzman.
Organized by Vancouver-based Bestway Tours & Safaris, the tour includes three days in Rishikesh, a holy city on the Ganges River where The Beatles spent considerable time, and a visit to the former ashram where The Beatles meditated. There will be visits to the historic “Pink City” of Jaipur, Udaipur, the holy city of Haridwar, Mumbai, the capital city New Delhi, and Agra to see the magnificent “Taj Mahal.” Optional yoga sessions, whitewater rafting, and spa treatment can add to the aura.
The tour runs Feb. 11 - 28, 2010 and includes inter-India travel and five-star accommodations. Learn more at Bestway Tours’ website at www.bestway.com or call toll-free from the US and Canada, 800-663-0844. Outside the US and Canada, call 604-264-7378.
